The International WaterCentre’s Masters Scholarships are now open to study the IWC Master of Integrated Water Management in Australia in 2013.
Using problem-based and experiential learning, IWC students create and implement integrated solutions to real-world water and climate change challenges. New Handbook for Integrated Water Resources Management in the Basins of Transboundary Rivers, Lakes and Aquifers
This publication was launched at the 6thWorld Water Forum in Marseille by the International Network of Basin Organizations (INBO), the Global Water Partnership (GWP), UNECE, UNESCO, GEF, EVREN and AFD who worked together to produce it.

The "Third workshop on water and adaptation to climate change in transboundary basins: Making adaptation work" will take place on 25 and 26 April 2012 in the Palais des Nations in Geneva, back-to-back with the fifth meeting of the Task Force on Water and Climate (27 April 2012). The UNECE is host and organizer, and GWP-Med will be a co-convenor for this meeting (like in 2011).

The International Roundtable on Protection and Sustainable Use of Transboundary Waters in Southeastern Europe was held on the 15th and 16th of December 2011 in Zagreb, Croatia.
It was organized and supported by the German Ministry of Environment in cooperation with the Croatian Ministry of Regional Development Forestry and Water Management, GEF IWLEARN, World Bank and Global Water Partnership – Mediterranean (GWP-Med) under the Petersberg Phase II / Athens Declaration Process. The Roundtable marked six years of action under the Petersberg Phase II / Athens Declaration Process for the enhancement of Transboundary Management in Southeastern Europe.

The Training Workshop on “How to connect policy and science for an improved water management: A practical introduction to application of knowledge brokering in the Sava River Basin Management Planning” that was held from the 30th of November to the 2nd of December 2011 in Zagreb, Croatia was proved to be fruitful and lucrative.
The Training Workshop was organized by the International Sava River Basin Commission (ISRBC) and the UNESCO Venice Office, with the assistance of the GWP-Med.
The workshop aimed at enhancing the capacity of science and policy stakeholders expected to be involved in the preparation and or implementation of the Sava River Basin Management Plan to be able to:
On 25 November 2011 in Tirana, Albania the five Drin River Riparians signed a Memorandum of Understanding on a Shared Strategic Vision for the Sustainable Management of the Drin River Basin for the benefit of about 1.5 million people relying on the water resources of the basin for drinking water, agriculture, fisheries, industry and hydropower. Recent floods, in particular, have highlighted the need for such closer transboundary cooperation.

The world’s economic growth and social welfare depend on the sustainable management of the world’s water resources in the context of climate change, according to a statement issued by the Global Water Partnership (GWP).
The statement, delivered at the world climate change conference by GWP Chair Dr. Letita A. Obeng to the high level session, was the only one by an agency whose focus is on water.
The 8th Meeting of the Circle of Mediterranean Parliamentarians for Sustainable Development was organized on the 15th of December 2010 in Cairo, Egypt.
The Meeting was organized by the Mediterranean Information Office for Environment, Culture and Sustainable Development (MIO-ECSDE) and the Global Water Partnership-Mediterranean (GWP-Med), which jointly facilitate the Secretariat of COMPSUD.
