The Blue Plan, Regional Action Centre of UNEP/ MAP
Established in 1977, under the auspices of the Contracting Parties of the Barcelona Convention, the Blue Plan is a Regional Action Centre of the Mediterranean Action Plan (UNEP/ MAP), assigned with helping governments of coastal states in the Mediterranean region to increase their knowledge of the joint problems they have to face. The Blue Plan provides data as well as systemic and prospective studies providing the Mediterranean countries with useful information for implementing sustainable socio-economic development that does not result in degradation of the environment. Its activities include a general mission of observation, evaluation and exploration in the relationships between populations, the environment and development. The International Centre for Advanced Mediterranean Agronomic Studies - CIHEAM
The International Centre for Advanced Mediterranean Agronomic Studies, CIHEAM, is a Network of Mediterranean Agronomic Institutes founded at the joint initiative of the OECD and the Council of Europe on 21 May 1962 under an agreement between the governments of seven Southern European countries (France, Greece, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Turkey and Yugoslavia). Its mission consists in “providing supplementary education (economic as well as technical) and developing a spirit of international cooperation among agricultural professionals in Mediterranean countries”. The Euro-Mediterranean Irrigators Community - EIC

The Mediterranean Institute on Water – IME
Created in Rabat, in 1982, IME is an international non-governmental organization with a special consultation status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council. Its main purpose is the development of cooperation across the Mediterranean of local authorities and professionals (institutions, experts, etc.) in water resources management, including water sanitation and irrigation. IME is the first Mediterranean Network of Water Authorities and Experts operating as a platform for the sharing of knowledge and as a discussion forum between the different actors. The Mediterranean Cities Network - MedCities

The Mediterranean Wetlands Initiative - MEDWET
